A working proof of the four components proposed for rebuilding all fifty-plus Learning Arcade games.
Built here on Make 24. Press the button and the website disappears.
Press Esc or the Exit Hatch to come back. Nothing here is linked from the site.
What to look for
The Wrapper. Navbar, footer, the language bar and the GENO widget all vanish. Scrolling is disabled. It stops being a webpage.
The Toast. Feedback slides up from the bottom, holds, and leaves. No close button, and it never covers the numbers.
The Reward. Solve one and a vault ring turns and locks. Pure CSS and SVG: zero kilobytes, because a stick-and-no-signal learner has no bandwidth to spend on a celebration.
The Hatch. Always visible, reachable by Tab and by Esc. A locked arena with no keyboard exit is a trap.
What v1.0 got wrong, and why it matters for all 50 games
The written spec says z-index 900. At 900 the arena opened underneath your navbar and widgets — the Exit Hatch
was hidden behind the nav. A z-index alone will never beat third-party widgets that keep raising theirs.
The wrapper now sits at the top of the stack and actively hides the chrome while open, restoring it on exit.
What this replaces
/bookgames/make-24-game duplicates /bookgames/make-24 — and it is broken.
It is titled MAKE 24 GAME but embeds rumination-bookgame.html. A visitor gets the wrong game. Retire it.
