The Fault Bench

Anybody can swap a part. The skill is knowing which part — before you buy it. Six real faults, and for each one you get two checks. Choose badly and you spend a check learning nothing. Choose well and the machine tells you exactly what is wrong.

Before you touch a real machine: unplug it at the wall. Not switched off — unplugged. Turn off the water before opening a hose. A gas dryer and a sealed refrigeration system are for a qualified person, always, no exceptions. This bench teaches diagnosis, not permission.

Step one · Run your checks

Bench cleared.

Every one of these was solved by looking before buying. That habit is worth more than any single repair.

Basic Appliance Repair

This bench teaches the diagnostic habit. The book covers the eight most common household appliances end to end — washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators and the rest — with the tests, the tools and the part-by-part detail this bench has no room for. Written by our founder, Dr. Gene A Constant, and donated to the Foundation.

The bench is free and always will be, and you do not need the book to use it. Global Sovereign University is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and book sales are its only income. A purchase is not a tax-deductible donation. As an Amazon Associate, GSU earns from qualifying purchases.
