There is no catch. Every book is a free PDF download, and Kindle editions are just $3.99. Every game, podcast, video, certification, and GENO conversation is free, always. GSU is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 39-2716552). The author donated his entire catalog. If you can afford a paperback, the foundation appreciates the support — but it is never required.

How do two people actually play the same game?

Two patterns make it work. Hot Seat Mode: players alternate turns on the same device — Player 1 takes Round 1, Player 2 takes Round 2, scores accumulate. Used for puzzle games like Make 24 and Phonics Protocol. Buzz-In Mode: both players see the same prompt at the same time, each has a "buzz" key (typically A and L on a keyboard), and the first to buzz answers first. Used for speed and reflex games. Each game's intro screen shows you which mode it uses and how to switch into two-player.

What can GENO actually do for me?

All 23 subjects are live now, each with its own free Comprehension Certification: thirty questions drawn at random, 80% earns Silver, 90% earns Gold, unlimited free retakes. You receive a personalized certificate with a unique serial number the moment you pass. Anyone — employer, parent, peer — can verify the credential without you ever sharing your identity. Do I need to create an account?

No. Everything on GSU works without an account: read, play, take certifications, talk to GENO. An optional free profile at /profile lets visitors save progress and track leaderboard rank — but it is opt-in, anonymous (no email required), and never asked for if you don't want it.

How is GSU different from Khan Academy or YouTube?
