A Baker's Dozen
A baker who owes you twelve loaves puts in thirteen, so that no one is ever shorted by an honest mistake. That is the whole doctrine of this place in one old habit. Twelve things that work — and a thirteenth given free, so the count is never short.
The grove
Every tree is a working door, not a slogan. Eight are standing and open today. The rest of the grove is being planted — and this page will name them here, and nowhere else, so the count never drifts again.
How a tree earns its place
A program joins the grove only when a stranger can use it this afternoon, without help, without paying, and without being told it is coming soon. Being planned is not being planted.
That rule was written on 17 August 2026, the day we found a page on this site describing a device that had never been built. Anything that cannot pass it stays out of the grove until it can.
The thirteen pillars

The thirteenth — the Activation Lock
Knowledge that sits on a shelf has done nothing for anyone. The thirteenth pillar is the one that ties a mentor to a learner and turns what somebody knows into something somebody else can now do.
It is the extra loaf. Not owed, not charged for, and the reason the other twelve are worth counting.
A handout creates dependence. A hand up ends it.
