Some College, No Credential: You Are Not Alone

What the numbers say

The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center tracks this group closely. Its June 2025 report counted about 43.1 million Americans with some college and no credential, including about 37.6 million of working age. That is more people than live in most countries. And they are not standing still: more than a million of them re-enrolled in a single recent year.

The point of those numbers is not to make anyone feel like a statistic. It is the opposite. Stopping out of college is common, ordinary, and fixable. None of it erased what you learned, and none of it closed the door.
