Stage 1: The Reverse Curriculum (Input / Grammar)

This tests the foundational discipline of grammar—the ability to receive, interpret, and organize information from a system that is not working as intended. This is Rhetoric in its oldest sense—not persuasion through words, but persuasion through function. The learner’s “argument” is the working artifact itself. This draws on the medieval guild tradition, where a craftsman did not receive a certificate. They produced a masterpiece — a physical demonstration of their capability — and the masters judged it on whether it worked.
